The beach is about 3-4km away. Walking is very hard because of the sand dunes.

stayed on caravan site not in the chalets. Good facilities and helpful staff. Quad bike ride was excellent value and exciting

Still, it is very windy. Our experience was disappointing as we had a high dome tent.

Simple accommodation. But more than sufficient for a great boys fishing trip.

In summary reviewing purely from a tenters perspective, it’s affordable, in a nice location, however due to the primitive facilities it fell short of my expectations. I would say it's It's a good option worth considering for a cheap quick stop over if you're doing a long trip and need to break up the journey by staying for the night or two. Or if your're camping on a budget, then this is the place for you!

Now It was extremely windy which made putting a tent up a bit of a challenge, but this will be the case no matter where you stay in Kalbarri I imagine. They’ve setup some permanent fencing to help shield campers from the winds and that does help. We found plenty of thorns in the grass so I would recommend always wearing closed shoes, especially if you have kids. The view of the sand dunes and the ocean is stunning but not close enough to walk to the beach from the camp site. It’s great if you have a 4x4 and want to go on the sand but the seas would be too rough for most for swimming.

The only reason I gave it 1 star is the wind.

I suspect this would be the most affordable accommodation you can find in the Kalbarri Region. We camped on an unpowered tent site between Christmas and '17 New Years and it was something like $10-$15 a person/per night which isn’t bad. Bare in mind however that you get what you pay for and if you don’t mind very basic camping facilities then this will not be an issue. If you’d like something a bit better, then there are other caravan parks at a fraction more but those do fill up quick so try to book in advance wherever you go.

Big site. Offers both small houses and tent grounds.

Back on the facilities, they are kept clean but again they are very primitive and I’ve attached photos to illustrate the point without going into great detail. There was a mysterious hole in the wall of one of the male showers, and although it allowed a nice cool breeze into the shower, it’s not something you’d expect to find.
